Senior Legal Adviser

IFPI is seeking a Senior Legal Adviser to work full time in its Legal Policy team in London.

The IFPI legal policy team works to secure adequate legal and regulatory environment for the recording industry in markets worldwide. It also informs IFPI’s voice in the copyright debate, promoting the value of music and the role of record labels in the digital economy.

Candidates should:

  • Be a qualified lawyer in any jurisdiction with a minimum of 5 years' PQE. Candidates who are not qualified lawyers will also be considered if they have a law degree and relevant experience of intellectual property law and practice.
  • Have a good working knowledge of the international copyright and related rights framework.
  • Be a fluent English speaker, with competence in other languages preferred.
  • Be capable of fast and accurate legal analysis, with the ability to work independently.
  • Be entitled to work in the UK.

Trainee Technical Investigator

IFPI is seeking a Trainee Technical Investigator to work full time in its Content Protection & Enforcement team in London. IFPI is looking to develop a passionate, dynamic and creative individual to be able to assist with both current and future large-scale technical investigations. Upon successful completion of their training, the candidate will be asked to work closely with other units within the organisation. As this is a trainee role, the candidate will be subject to a probationary period of 3 months and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (“CRB”) check.

Candidates should:

  • Hold a qualification in a computing discipline and/or relevant professional certifications. Knowledge of internet topologies and networking protocols would be preferred including DNS, WHOIS & TCP/IP. Previous OSINT training or knowledge preferable.
  • Awareness of both criminal and civil evidence production. Demonstrate an ability to problem solve whilst working to tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable producing written reports, documents and presentations.
  • Be a fluent English speaker, with competence in other languages preferred. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Be entitled to work in the UK.
