Sơn Tùng M-TP wins top accolades from the industry-backed music chart, landing both Top Local Artist and Song of the Year

Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam – April 24, 2025 – The stars of Vietnamese music gathered at CINÉ Saigon last night as the industry celebrated the launch of The Official Vietnam Chart.
The Official Vietnam Chart is operated by The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), as part of the Official Southeast Asia Charts, the recently launched regional music hub for the fast-growing Southeast Asia region containing the definitive weekly rankings of the hottest songs across Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, The Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.
The event, which included a glamourous red carpet and awards ceremony, is a testament to the thriving artistry that defines Vietnamese music.
It provided a spotlight for the elite lineup of chart-topping talents, including HIEUTHUHAI, Vũ, tlinh, Low G, Wren Evans, Đen, RHYDER, itsnk and RPT MCK, who all featured as the top local artists of 2024.
But it was Sơn Tùng M-TP who emerged as one of the biggest shining stars, winning both Top Local Artist of the Year and Song of the Year with his hit-tune “Đừng Làm Trái Tim Anh Đau”.
His genre-defying “Chúng Ta Của Tương Lai” also featured at #2 for the Top Local Song, underlining the singer’s huge success in 2024.
Sơn Tùng M-TP expressed heartfelt gratitude to The Official Vietnam Chart for the prestigious recognition.
In a statement, he said: “I feel truly honored and grateful to receive these two prestigious awards from The Official Vietnam Chart: Top Local Artist and Top Local Song of the Year.”
“This is a special milestone in my career, and I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all the listeners who have always supported my music. I also want to thank The Official Vietnam Chart and IFPI for recognizing and supporting Vietnamese artists. Knowing that I’m the first artist to receive both of these awards makes me incredibly proud.”
He added: “And above all, I dedicate this achievement to the Sky community – you are my greatest source of motivation. None of this would be possible without you. Once again, thank you all for being part of this journey with me.”
Other top songs from local artists in 2024 included “Những Lời Hứa Bỏ Quên” by Vũ., Dear Jane, “Bạn Đời (feat. GDucky)” from Karik and “Chịu Cách Mình Nói Thua” by RHYDER, Coolkid, BAN.
But aside from unveiling the top music from the past year, the launch party also enjoyed a performance from Lou Hoàng, who took the stage to perform “Ngày Đẹp Trời Để Nói Chia Tay”, which was also recognised as one of the top 10 local songs of 2024 (#9).
Other highlights included performances from breakout star Thể Thiên, who delivered two songs, “interlude (diễm xưa)” and “SAIGONTEY,” as well as the charismatic and celebrated Hà Lê, who delighted partygoers with “Quay Lại Giường Đi Em”.
All the performances showcased the undeniable talent across the country and helped make the evening a true celebration of music excellence in Vietnam.
The Official Vietnam Chart is an industry-backed weekly music chart showcasing the top-performing tracks from local and international artists in the country based on streaming across major platforms. It’s not just a weekly compilation of data, but also a reflection of the changing dynamics and trends in the music industry.
Backed by key players in the recorded music industry, The Official Vietnam Chart combines streams from global platforms Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify and YouTube. The charts are managed by IFPI, in accordance with global charts principles and methodologies.
The chart will be made publicly available every Tuesday at www.officialseacharts.com and on the Official SEA Charts Instagram and Facebook channels. The Official Vietnam Chart is among six Official Charts available on the regional platform, which also includes the Official Indonesia Chart, Official Thailand Chart, Official Philippines Chart, Official Singapore Chart and Official Malaysia Chart.

About the Official Southeast Asia Charts
The Official Southeast Asia Charts are a collection of weekly streaming singles charts – the Official Indonesia Chart, Official Malaysia Chart, Official Philippines Chart, Official Singapore Chart, Official Thailand Chart and Official Vietnam Chart. The data collection week runs from Friday to Thursday, with the charts released at www.officialseacharts.com and on the Official Southeast Asia Instagram and Facebook accounts each Tuesday.
In addition to the official charts for each country, four speciality charts are also delivered each week. In Indonesia, the Official Indonesia Domestic Chart, in Malaysia the Domestic and Chinese Charts, and the Regional Chart in Singapore.
All charts include chart-eligible streams from Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify and YouTube, while the Official Indonesia and Indonesia Domestic Charts also include Langit Musik. In accordance with IFPI’s global chart principles, streams from each market are weighted to take into account the difference in economic value between the free and paid tiers of streaming services. This delivers charts which reflect the volume and the value of streams across the region, celebrating the biggest songs of the week.
